Learning

We show our love of learning by being motivated to build and deepen our knowledge, in all curriculum areas. Every student has a Ready to Learn Check in and a Ready to Learn Scale which supports differentiation throughout the school day.

Attendance

Every day counts at Barayip! Families support their children daily to be at school, on time, in full school uniform, ready to learn. At Barayip Primary School we have high expectations for the attendance of all students. This is because we recognise that attendance everyday maximises the strengths and potential of every student’s education. In order for students to gain maximum benefit from their time at school, and to maximise future life opportunities, it is important that your child/ren attend school every day.

Ready to learn

Every student has a Ready to Learn Check In. This check in allows all educators to be aware of how best to set individual students up for success in being prepared for learning, at every opportunity, across the school day.

Victorian Curriculum + Instruction

All educators at Barayip Primary School follow the Victorian Curriclum. Explicit Teaching and Instruction of all curriculum areas is highly visible in all learning spaces, for all students across Foundation – Year 6.

Learning and teaching and Barayip Primary School is our strength. We pride ourselves on all we do being based on research, Department of Education models and best practice.

Our Barayip Learning and Teaching Model is research-based and developed from a range of highly valued and reliable resources. Our Barayip Learning and Teaching Model is consistently implemented in all learning areas of the school, by all educators. It is the way we lead improving student learning and wellbeing outcomes for every student.

Consistent Predictable Routines

At Barayip Primary School, our explicit teaching of school values, routines and behaviours are influenced by the Berry Street Education Model. We believe, routines, consistency and high levels of predictability support the wellbeing of students, educators and community.

Consistent and predictable routines, rhythm and repetition soothe the nervous system and support both student learning and wellbeing. It helps educators be ready to educate and students to be ready to learn.

Consistent Predictable Routines, adapted from the Berry Street Education Model are researched and evidence-based in having success in learning spaces. These consistent, predictable routines are implemented by all educators, for all students, in all learning areas at Barayip Primary School.
